For example, after planting the ginger flower that replaced my diseased rosebush, I realized “something” sprouting next to it and I didn’t know what it was.
I asked Gemini and it told me the ginger was already spreading, which was very unlikely. Then I asked Google Lens, usually an interesting, free way to identify plants with your phone.
After a while, I discovered that it was a butterfly bush seed — I do have a tall butterfly bush in a pot on the porch, where each flower produces millions of small pods containing seeds — that apparently crossed the walkway and established itself in the ground, where I’m now monitoring it carefully to see what really comes out of it.
